Improving upon the already successful grand touring recipe of the 550 Maranello, the 575M was launched in 2002 at the Geneva Motor Show. The “M” stood for “modificata,” noting its updated styling, improved weight distribution, and more powerful V-12 engine.
Most notably, it featured an optional semiautomatic F1 transaxle for the first time ever on a V-12 Ferrari, which shifted through six gears via column mounted paddle shifters. The 575M offered a slice of cutting-edge F1 technology for the road and was capable of a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds.
This exceptional 575M was purchased new at The Collection in Coral Gables, Florida, sporting Scuderia fender shields and 19” modular wheels on the exterior, and exceptionally rare carbon fiber racing seats on the interior. It remained in Florida for five years until being relocated to Wisconsin in 2008. Documentation shows the car subsequently moved to Illinois, where it has resided since 2016. It then had notable service completed, including the refinishing of the common sticky interior switchgear and a timing-belt service.
Now offered from a prominent private collection, it is accompanied by its original service book, owner’s manuals, Becker radio manuals, and tool kit. Examples in such condition, with such low mileage are rarely available, making this an opportunity to own a piece of V-12 Ferrari history.
